Helen Margaret Giovanello has spent years documenting the human condition in an intimate and personal way. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally and sold to private collectors and museums.
Born in London Helen grew up in Torino, Italy and she studies Philosophy and Human Science at the University of Torino.
1984 she goes to Paris to study dance, theater, video and photography.
1994 Helen moves to New York and in 1996 she receive the Certificate in General Studies of Photography at the International Centre of Photography.
2001 she is selected to attend the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop, NY.
2004 she qualify for the Certificate of Indipendent Producer from the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, New York.
2005 she is the finalist of the prestigious Gordon Parks award.
2007 she is the guest photographer for the book “Primavera Italiana” published in Tokyo, Japan.
2008 she receives an Honorable mention in the PX3 photo competition Paris.
2009 "Regards sur le Sida en Inde" book with ngo Help France/ HelpIndia, forewords by Dominique Lapierre.
